Data from TCIA collections have and continue to be used as the training/leader board/test data for challenge competitions, e.g., image segmentation. These data sets are normally managed as private collections with limited access until the competition is complete. The data used in the challenge and the standard of truth used to judge the competition are then made publicly accessible from TCIA.
